FIELD NOTE · ANALYSIS REVIEW

Read the summary.
Check the source.

A worked review of attribution, assistance, counterexamples and unsupported conclusions.

Reviewed October 12, 2026

Review a summary as a collection of claims. For each claim, locate the original material, inspect the question and context, and decide whether the wording preserves what the source can support. Fluent writing is not evidence of faithful analysis.

Use a small, clearly fictional review pack.

The three records below are invented teaching fixtures. They describe no real participant or completed Vellora study. Each has a different context; the reviewer must keep those contexts separate.

FixtureOriginal contextInvented observation
DEMO-P01 / 02:10After a moderator explains sharing permissionsParticipant says the visibility rule now makes sense.
DEMO-P02 / 05:40Unaided attempt to send a draftParticipant asks whether the whole team will receive it.
DEMO-P03 / 03:05Discussing an existing workaroundParticipant describes using a private folder for early drafts.

Find the claim that goes beyond the record.

Invented AI summaryProblemMore defensible wording
Everyone understood sharing immediately.Drops assistance for P01 and contradicts P02.P01 reported understanding after an explanation; P02 was unsure during an unaided attempt.
P03 could not find the sharing control.Attaches a navigation claim to a record about a workaround.P03 described a private-folder workaround; this record does not show a navigation attempt.
Users need a private mode.Turns one workaround and one uncertainty into a solution requirement.Investigate whether clearer audience information or another change addresses these situations.

The revised wording is deliberately narrower. It keeps the unanswered design question visible instead of choosing a solution through summarization.

A claim-by-claim review sequence

  1. Locate: open the cited source, not only the extracted snippet. Mark a missing source as unverified.
  2. Attribute: check the speaker, session, stimulus and question. Do not combine several people into a composite quotation.
  3. Qualify: retain conditions such as after help, for one task, or in one role.
  4. Challenge: look for contradictory examples and omitted uncertainty.
  5. Decide: accept within a stated scope, edit, reject, or ask for more evidence. Record the reviewer and reason.

Review more than the cited examples.

A summary can quote two sources correctly while omitting the rest of the study. Compare its themes with the source inventory and research questions. Check who is missing, whether repeated comments came from one participant, and whether a polished positive quote displaced an unsuccessful attempt.

For a manageable pilot, inspect every substantive claim. For larger collections, document the review scope and what remains unchecked. A checked subset does not certify the whole repository.

Keep AI output and participant evidence distinct.

A generated hypothesis, simulated respondent answer, or paraphrase should be labeled as such. It is not another participant and should not increase your sample count. Store the summary version and the original evidence separately so later edits can be traced.

Checking a summary of learning material?

For a lecture or reading, apply the same source check before relying on generated notes: select one explanation, locate its source passage, and look for omitted conditions. CuFlow’s official site describes turning uploaded study materials into notes, mindmaps, flashcards and quizzes. That description is not evidence that every generated answer is correct.

Explore CuFlow’s study workflow → CuFlow is a product from our team. Use it for learning materials; participant research analysis requires its own permissions, source handling and review.

Finish with an auditable change.

Write the original claim, its source ID, the problem, the corrected wording and the remaining uncertainty into the evidence log. Use the debrief builder to capture fresh session notes before synthesis. This is Vellora’s editorial review method, not a measured benchmark of any AI product.

Before turning a reviewed finding into a product explanation, follow the product story guide. TapVid can help produce the video; it does not verify the research claim.
